The 14th Annual Iowa Referee Academy will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Des Moines University, Student Education Center (SEC) Auditorium, 3200 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312. You can register now by following the instructions at Academy Registration. You have to register for the Academy if you want to attend the Academy.

Todd Abraham is a National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA) National Referee Emeritus and past-President of NISOA. Todd has refereed NCAA Division I, II, and III Tournaments including the D-I and D-III quarterfinals. He was inducted into the NISOA Hall of Fame in 2010. Todd was appointed NISOA Rules Interpreter in 2010 and appointed to the NCAA Soccer Rules Committee in 2012. As a National Clinician and Director of Instruction, Todd prepares the NCAA post-season qualification exam, annual refresher tests, and post-season quiz for NISOA referees. He also writes and edits the NISOA Pre-season Guide and articles for Referee Magazine and the NISOA Comparative Study of Rules and Laws.

Sandra Serafini ("Fini" as she prefers to be called) became certified as a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) referee in 1998 and as a National Intercollegiate referee in 1999, serving on the FIFA Panel of Women Referees from 2006 to 2009. Serafini officiated multiple Conference Finals, NCAA Final Fours, mens and womens domestic professional leagues, and international events in North America, Europe, and Asia. She currently serves with the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) as the Supervisor of Officials for NWSL and Womens Referee Coach, continues as a National level assessor and instructor for USSF and CONCACAF, and sits on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO). Off the field, Serafini holds a Ph.D. in Speech & Hearing Sciences / Neuroscience and is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Duke University Health Systems in Durham, North Carolina. All you young lady referees will definitely enjoy Finis return to the Iowa Referee Academy!

Rick Eddy is Director of Referee Development for US Soccer and is a National Instructor and National Assessor. In his current role, Rick oversees all technical aspects of the US Soccer Referee Program. He was a USSF National Referee from 1992 to 2006 and a Major League Soccer Assistant Referee from 1997 to 2006. Rick has worked the 2006 Lamar Hunt Open Cup Final, the 2002 MLS Cup and PDL Finals, 2001 A-League Final, and the 1999 USL D3 Pro Final. Most recently, Rick is seen in the US Soccer video entitled Referee Grades Overview.
